Itinerary

You may arrive in Kathmandu valley at any time. Upon your arrival, you will be transferred to the hotel for an overnight stay.

This day is reserved for a tour of Kathmandu city's four major UNESCO World Heritage Sites- the Kathmandu Durbar Square, the Pashupatinath Stupa, the Bouddhanath Stupa, and the Swayambhunath Temple. After a visit to each of the sites, you can also prepare for tomorrow's trip, like making sure you have the right equipment and such. Overnights stay at the hotel.

On this day, you will have a long drive to Syabrubensi, leaving the Kathmandu valley behind and making your way through the ridgelines and valley troughs towards Langtang. You will also be entering the Langtang National Park as you make your way to today's destination. Although the drive is filled with beautiful natural sights, as you come close to the Langtang valley, you can notice the change in the landscape as the vegetation and the flora of the place resembles an alpine environment. Overnights stay at Syabrubensi.

You will begin your trekking journey today as you make your way to Lama Hotel. The landscape is quite sparse in human life, but you can notice the occasional Kharkas along the path. The pastures cover most of the foothills, and as you start gaining elevation, you will start to notice the forest becoming denser. The wispy waterfalls also decorate the landscape on certain occasions, with swift rivers cutting across the terrain. The Langtang Himal also looms over the valley. Overnights stay at Lama Hotel.

The trek today is filled with wonderful forests of rhododendrons and pine. The green canopy of the forests provides a wonderful overhead as you make your way to the renowned Langtang village. The vast green pastures along the way are also occasionally dotted with herds of cattle and villages going about their daily chores. You will cross many suspension bridges and go over rivers and brooks as you trek towards the village. The path is also lined with Mani walls and small chortens at certain intervals. Overnights stay at Langtang village.

Today's trek is filled with amazing views of the Langtang Himal. The Langtang peak magnificently looms over the valley, overshadowing the sunken terrain under its presence. The trek to Kyanjin Gompa requires a steady climb up the valley as you trudge along the ridgelines and make your way to smaller viewpoints. From one of the viewpoints, you can also spot the red walls of the Gompa situated serenely under the shadow of the mountain in the distance. The Kyanjin Gompa is a revered site visited by many pilgrims during special traditional days. Overnights stay at Kyanjin Gompa.

Day 7 :
Rest Day

This day is reserved for acclimatization. You can spend the day exploring the surrounding villages of the Gompa and trek to the nearest viewpoint for a panoramic view of the valley and the mountains. You can also pay a visit to the famous cheese factory of the region. Overnights stay at Kyanjin.

The trek from Kyanjin to the Yala Base Camp is a bit strenuous, but a steady ascend will help you overcome the journey. All along the way, you will be constantly greeted by many Himalayan peaks of the region, like the Langtang Lirung, the Naya Kang Peak, and the Tserko RI Himal. Overnights stay at the base camp.

This is a big day as you will be making your way to the summit of Yala Peak. Using your peak climbing equipment, like ice axes and crampons, you will follow your guide as he navigates the way. The journey is steep, and the terrain is vast and filled with snow and glacial sludge. The views of the surrounding and other Himalayas are quite unforgettable, though. After summiting the peak, you will follow your guide back down to the base camp. Overnights stay at base camp.

Following the same trial, you will make your way back to the Kyanjin Gompa. The trek back is a lot easier than the ascent, and you can enjoy the scenery more on your way back as well. The beautiful views of the mountain peaks are also a constant companion. Overnights stay at Kyanjin Gompa.

You will make your way back down the valley, coruscating through the woodlands once again back to Lama Hotel. Spending the night at Lama Hotel, you will continue your journey back to Syabrubensi, passing through the same ethnic villages and the green landscape. You can enjoy the cacophony of Himalayan birds as you trek under the green nettings of the lush woods. Overnights stay at Syabrubensi.

You will bid the mountains goodbye as you make your way back to the city today. You will drive along the same route as before, and upon arriving in the city, you will be transferred to your hotel. Overnights stay at the hotel in Kathmandu.
