The best time for this beautiful trek and climb is the mid-spring and autumn seasons, spring from March to May, and autumn/fall begins from September to November months.

Springtime from March to May will be much lively with wild-flowers in seasonal bloom, especially the magnolia and rhododendrons the national flower of Nepal.

March to May fine clear day most of the time, with longer sun-light hours but can get overcast in the late afternoon with chances of snow sometimes on high altitude areas as well on passes. Our great journey begins with an exciting scenic drive from Kathmandu to reach north of Dolakha district within warm farmland. After the drive walk follows a high trail to reach first Sherpa village of Simi-Gaon, and then into the alpine forest.

 

As the walk progress heading higher country, where tall tree lines disappear for the short alpine bush of juniper and Burberry. Finally, adventure reach you to Beding, where Rolwaling valley starts from this last mountain village, located beneath towering Mt. Gaurishankar. The last village before Thame of Khumbu, on the other side of Tashi-Lapcha-La pass, after an adventure climb to Pachermo peak.

 

Beding village, a perfect place at 3, 693 m high for a rest day to explore around and visit an old monastery. A scenic spot where one enjoys hike to a high viewpoint to catch the best views of the surrounding snow mountain range.

 

From Beding after an enjoyable rest day, the walk continues on the wide scenic Rolwaling valley enclosed by towering snow peaks. Adventure reaches you at Na-Gaon, a temporary settlement, a summer grazing pasture of local Yak herders.

 

Located at the eastern rim of the valley amidst the High Mountain range of Jugal Himal with Mt. Gaurishankar 7,145 m. Includes Melung Tse (Jobo Garee) 7,181 m, Ramdung-Go 5,925 m, Chukyima-Go 6,259 m, Tabayabyum 5,558 m, and Yalung-Ri 5,630 m. After a wonderful time at Na-Gaon the last human settlement, the adventure leads beyond Rolwaling valley towards Tsho-Rolpo a glacial lake. Walk gets closer to our destination with overnights on the foot of Drolambau Glacier and Tashi Lapcha-La Pass.

 

Next early morning on leaving from the end of Rolwaling valley, a steep climb reach you at Tashi-Lapcha-La. Enjoy the stunning panorama from high the high ridge and slowly head towards Pachermo peak to establish a base camp.

 

Pachermo Peak at 6, 187 m / 20, 298 feet high, a trekking peak as listed in NMA Nepal Mountaineering Association). One of the less climbed peaks than other famous peaks due to its remote and isolated location. The grade of the climb is PD means Per Difficule, a straightforward climb of less technical difficulty.

However, climbers require adequate climbing equipment like ice-axe, crampons, and other necessary gear to reach the summit of Pachermo Peak.

 

The grading system we have set for Pachermo Peak climb from French and Swiss Alpine Climbing Classification. Which is widely used and popular among wide-world mountaineers, for the alpine-style climb, after a good rest and preparation.

 

Start the climb following our expert guide, as the route leads on deep hard snow and rocks. The guide will fix the main ropes as safety measures a strenuous haul to reach on top Pachermo Peak. After a great triumph on completing our major highlight of the adventure, then head towards the end of Tashi-Lapcha-La. One of the highest passes around the eastern Himalayas at 5, 755 m / 18, 881 feet. From the top, a long descend takes you to the Khumbu area of the Everest region at Thame village.

 

Thame a quant farm village located on mid-way of Tashi-Lapcha and route to Tibet border. As well one can reach Gokyo Lake via Reno-La and to Lukla after Namche Bazaar.

 

At Thame, with time visit the monastery tucked above the village, one of the oldest religious monuments of Khumbu. From Thame an easy gradual walk towards east direction within lovely lush vegetation and tall pine and rhododendron trees. Slowly trek reaches the famous Namche Bazaar, a large village almost the size of a town, the hub of Khumbu Sherpa.

 

From Namche Bazaar, after a pleasant overnight stop in the comfort of a nice lodge and hotels, last walk to Lukla. The final trek of the adventure on a downhill to follow Dudh Kosi River for some time, coming across nice villages.

 

Finally, our wonderful walk concludes by reaching Lukla, a town and gateway of many trekking and adventure around Khumbu. Lukla is a famous spot for the starting and ending points of various treks, due to its airstrip.

Rolwaling Valley and Pachermo climb with Tashi Lapcha Pass adventure begins with an exciting drive on Kathmandu-Jiri highway, an interesting journey around Himalayan mid-hills. As drive heads to Charikot and Dolakha towns to reach the base of Rolwaling high hills at Gongar, a small farm village near to Tama Kosi River, flows from the glacial source Mt. Gaurishankar and bordering mountains of Nepal and Tibet. First overnight camp around this small village close the river with time to get refreshed before dinner prepared by our camping cook and staff.

Morning after a good breakfast cross over Tama Kosi River within a narrow gorge to Chetchet with views of beautiful waterfalls, as climb leads to cooler hills on leaving low warm area with rice paddy fields.
After an hour climb to reach at alpine hills for overnight camp at Simi-Gaon village populated with Sherpa tribes, a nice farm village with farm terraces growing corns, potatoes, wheat’s, barley and millets, afternoon at leisure visit an old monastery facing views of Mt. Gaurishankar and Melung-Tse peak.

Adventure continues towards North East as walk leads past farm terraces and into lovely forest of rhododendron, oaks, magnolia, and pine trees. Continue walk with climb to a hill top and then descend past grazing areas of local herders with small temporary built up shades and huts at a small place Gyalche.
From this peaceful area within forest, an hour walk to overnight camp at Dovan, located by the river flows from the glacier of high Jugal mountain range.

Start the morning crossing Rolwaling Khola (stream) then climb into a forested area, as route winds up to Nyimare and Ramding farm a temporary settlements of cattle herders. Walk continues with climb and then ending lovely day walk on reaching Beding village for overnight camp.

Enjoy a rest day at Beding a perfect place and right altitude for acclimatization before heading towards higher region and climb of Pachermo Peak.
Take a short hike and climb to a hill for best views of Jugal Himal with Gaurishankar and Melung Tse, the main close peaks of the area.

From here onward within beautiful Rolwaling valley, a short day walks as trek heads further east facing grand views of Mt. Gaurishankar 7,145 m and Melung Tse peak also called Jobo Garee 7,181 m. After Beding village an up-hill as walk proceeds with more views of snow-capped peaks that follows you to Na-Gaon and with close look of Ramdung-Go 5,925 m, Chukyima-Go 6,259 m and Tabayabyum 5,558 m with Yalung Ri peak at 5,630 m.
Finally morning walk completes by lunch time at Na Gaon, located on a wide glacial Rolwaling valley that ends into a mountain wall.
Na Gaon, a temporary settlement of Beding Yak and cattle herders a grazing pasture fields, where local grows potatoes, wheat’s and barley as they stay during summer during grazing season, afternoon relax and explore around this beautiful area.

After a pleasant stop with pleasant overnight in Na-Gaon, from here into total isolation of mountain wilderness, as walk reach you at the end of Rolwaling Valley. Adventure starts crossing a river to a south bank and then follow small icy stream to Yersa at Sangma, the last temporary shelters of Yak and cattle herders.
On crossing a wooden bridge climb up to moraine, and then traverse steeply up to reach a terminal moraine, close to the dam of Tsho Rolpa glacial lake.
The lake also called Cho / Tsho Pokhari, Tsho a local name of Tibetan origin, overnight camp is set on a sandy level ground south side of Tsho Rolpa around Kabuk area enjoy the afternoon relaxing after tough walk of the day.
From the camp great views of Tsoboje 6,689 m and Dragker-Go peaks 6,793 m with array of snow-mountains that surrounds this remote spot.

From the camp heed slowly to traverse over a rocky moraine above north from the lake, walk along the moraine past overhanging rocks, as our route takes you to a high slopes above a glacier avoiding the lower section.
Climb on rocky glacier to reach overnight camp at the bottom of Drolambau ice-fall. A steady climb takes you to the lowest point of the icefall and then climb at the point to reach over Drolambau glacier.
Taking precaution, danger of rock-falls sometimes during the day, the middle moraine provides a route up to the glacier, overnight camp on suitable level ground surrounded by high mountains within complete wilderness

One of Big Day, start climb early before dawn following a glacier path for an hour or more to reach a spur which provides an access towards our route on the upper glacier. Guides will fix ropes, making ledges so that porters and all members can climb at ease. Although the terrain is not that difficult, a precaution is very necessary, after all is set for the final climb, four hours climb along with mind-blowing surrounding views reach you on top of the pass at highest point of the trek at Tashi Lapcha pass 5,755 m high, festooned with Buddhist prayer flags and rock cairns. From the pass looking for suitable spot for Pachermo Peak base camp and overnight stops.

A rest and free day for acclimatization and to study the route of climb for next early morning adventure to the summit top of Pachermo Peak. Rest of the day preparation for next early climb.

Our major part of the adventure, from the camp early morning before dawn cross a wide crevassed snow slopes to reach a first ridge of Pachermo Peak.
Which rises from the broken glacier of the pass, the steady climb with some short rest follows with few difficulties, in some conditions crevasses might give problems to reach the summit. After much effort guide will support all members making the trail much accessible with main ropes and guarding the path with snow-bar where needed. Finally reach on top Pachermo summit, the highest point of the adventure at 6,187 m high, rewards with boundless views of snow-mountain range with all of Jugal Himal, as far towards Everest.
After the successful climb descend back on the same route with care to the base camp near Tashi Lapcha La pass.

Always best to have spare and reserved a day due to the nature of the climb, and to maintain the itinerary in case of bad and unfavorable weather condition before the climb.
If all goes well not using the reserve day as per our standard itinerary, this spare rest day will be used on route Namche Bazaar or to Lukla to make the walk shorter and enjoyable.

On completing the main adventure with exciting climb of Pachermo Peak morning descend to Khumbu around Everest region.
A long downhill to a small Yak herders place at Ngole, as walk continues near glacial pond of Pachermo-Tsho, and then head further on gradual path to overnight camp at Tengpo, another Yak herders camp and a summer pasture and grazing areas.

After a long hard time of previous day walks and climb, from here an enjoyable trek most of the way to Namche and beyond to Lukla town. From the first camp around Khumbu area, walk follows over snow slopes the trail is well marked and continues with long descend to reach Thame Khola with excellent views of
Mt. Ama Dablam, Mt. Makalu and Lumding Himal above the Thame Khola.
A few hours of gradual walk downhill to Thame Village this will be the first hint of trekker and human civilization since Beding village.
At Thame visit old, interesting Monastery located upper end of the village, Thame situated on an Old Salt Trade and Caravan Route of Nepal and Tibet via a high Nangpa-la pass.

Today a pleasant walk to Namche, an affluent rich Sherpa town and an important trading center with a weekly Saturday market, fresh foodstuffs are brought up from lower villages to barter or sell.
Walk leads east from Thame with short down to a bridge over Bhote Kosi River, from the bridge climb to reach a Thamo villages with many prayer walls and then walk into green alpine forest on a gentle winding path, after good four hours of pleasant walk reach you to Namche Bazaar for overnight stop before Lukla.

From Namche Bazaar enjoy the last day walk of the adventure heading downhill to Dudh Kosi River valley within cool shade of forest, then enter Sagarmatha National Park near Monjo village, then cross over a suspension bridge to reach at Phakding village.

From Phakding on easy trek on winding trail to Lukla past Ghat and Choplong villages adorned with Buddhist monuments. As walk get close to Lukla with last final climb of less than an hour to reach our last overnight stop in Lukla.

01: Is Rolwaling Valley and Pachermo Peak a tough adventure?

Rolwaling Valley and the climb of Pachermo Peak is done quite often by interested
climbers and adventurers. One of the best trekking crossing high Tashi-Labtsa la
pass to reach the Khumbu region of Everest. Although a wonderful region for great
adventure, very few trekkers and climbers seldom use this route. Due to its
remote location, where all camping gear needs to be carried till Thame village is
reached.

people, quite spacious, providing toilet and dining tents as per size of a group.

04: What happens if someone gets very sick in between the trek and climb?

Depending upon the seriousness of the patient, for minor wounds and sickness,
having self-treatment with the medicines carried by the clients and from Brown
Bear Trail. For critical condition the victim should be brought and evacuated to
safe lower place to the nearest medical post or hospital by fastest means of
transportation. In some situation requires Helicopter service the fastest means to
bring the sick to Kathmandu for further treatment.

05: Is there any facilities to charge our electronic gadgets?

On leaving major villages at Bedding and Na settlement, from then on in the complete
wilderness. Far from human settlements or villages till the Khumbu area at Thame is
reached. Walking beyond main villages. There will be no facilities available to
