The best time for this beautiful trek and climb is the mid-spring and autumn seasons, spring from March to May, and autumn/fall begins from September to November months.
Springtime from March to May will be much lively with wild-flowers in seasonal bloom, especially the magnolia and rhododendrons the national flower of Nepal.
March to May fine clear day most of the time, with longer sun-light hours but can get overcast in the late afternoon with chances of snow sometimes on high altitude areas as well on passes. Autumn / Falls another best time for this trek with a fine clear day for views and walks. But days are short with sun-light hours can be freezing cold higher altitude, especially in the morning, and night times will be clear with bright starry nights. Chances of snow on tracks above 3,000 m higher, as well on passes.
Religion and Culture:
The high Rolwaling Valley and Khumbu area of Everest are highly populated by Sherpa people the mountain tribes of Nepal and the highlanders of Eastern Himalayas. The Sherpa follows strong Buddhism religion and age-old culture similar to Tibetan, on this trek you will notice traditionally built houses, where every home is adorned with Buddhist prayer flags and monuments.
As you encounter prayer walls and Stupa, where walking clockwise will be the right way to respect the local culture, from the Rolwaling area to Khumbu around the Everest region. Our great journey begins with an exciting scenic drive from Kathmandu to reach north of Dolakha district within warm farmland. After the drive walk follows a high trail to reach first Sherpa village of Simi-Gaon, and then into the alpine forest.
As the walk progress heading higher country, where tall tree lines disappear for the short alpine bush of juniper and Burberry. Finally, adventure reach you to Beding, where Rolwaling valley starts from this last mountain village, located beneath towering Mt. Gaurishankar. The last village before Thame of Khumbu, on the other side of Tashi-Lapcha-La pass, after an adventure climb to Pachermo peak.
Beding village, a perfect place at 3, 693 m high for a rest day to explore around and visit an old monastery. A scenic spot where one enjoys hike to a high viewpoint to catch the best views of the surrounding snow mountain range.
From Beding after an enjoyable rest day, the walk continues on the wide scenic Rolwaling valley enclosed by towering snow peaks. Adventure reaches you at Na-Gaon, a temporary settlement, a summer grazing pasture of local Yak herders.
Located at the eastern rim of the valley amidst the High Mountain range of Jugal Himal with Mt. Gaurishankar 7,145 m. Includes Melung Tse (Jobo Garee) 7,181 m, Ramdung-Go 5,925 m, Chukyima-Go 6,259 m, Tabayabyum 5,558 m, and Yalung-Ri 5,630 m. After a wonderful time at Na-Gaon the last human settlement, the adventure leads beyond Rolwaling valley towards Tsho-Rolpo a glacial lake. Walk gets closer to our destination with overnights on the foot of Drolambau Glacier and Tashi Lapcha-La Pass.
Next early morning on leaving from the end of Rolwaling valley, a steep climb reach you at Tashi-Lapcha-La. Enjoy the stunning panorama from high the high ridge and slowly head towards Pachermo peak to establish a base camp.
Pachermo Peak at 6, 187 m / 20, 298 feet high, a trekking peak as listed in NMA Nepal Mountaineering Association). One of the less climbed peaks than other famous peaks due to its remote and isolated location. The grade of the climb is PD means Per Difficule, a straightforward climb of less technical difficulty.
However, climbers require adequate climbing equipment like ice-axe, crampons, and other necessary gear to reach the summit of Pachermo Peak.
The grading system we have set for Pachermo Peak climb from French and Swiss Alpine Climbing Classification. Which is widely used and popular among wide-world mountaineers, for the alpine-style climb, after a good rest and preparation.
Start the climb following our expert guide, as the route leads on deep hard snow and rocks. The guide will fix the main ropes as safety measures a strenuous haul to reach on top Pachermo Peak. From the summit mind-blowing panorama of the surrounding Himalayan Mountain range welcomes you, with a view of Mt. Everest towards the northeast.
After a great triumph on completing our major highlight of the adventure, then head towards the end of Tashi-Lapcha-La. One of the highest passes around the eastern Himalayas at 5, 755 m / 18, 881 feet. From the top, a long descend takes you to the Khumbu area of the Everest region at Thame village.
Thame a quant farm village located on mid-way of Tashi-Lapcha and route to Tibet border. As well one can reach Gokyo Lake via Reno-La and to Lukla after Namche Bazaar.
At Thame, with time visit the monastery tucked above the village, one of the oldest religious monuments of Khumbu. From Thame an easy gradual walk towards east direction within lovely lush vegetation and tall pine and rhododendron trees. Slowly trek reaches the famous Namche Bazaar, a large village almost the size of a town, the hub of Khumbu Sherpa.
From Namche Bazaar, after a pleasant overnight stop in the comfort of a nice lodge and hotels, last walk to Lukla. The final trek of the adventure on a downhill to follow Dudh Kosi River for some time, coming across nice villages.
Finally, our wonderful walk concludes by reaching Lukla, a town and gateway of many trekking and adventure around Khumbu. Lukla is a famous spot for the starting and ending points of various treks, due to its airstrip.
