Best seasons for Pisang Peak Trek & Climb:
The best time for this wonderful adventure is in the spring and autumn seasons, from March to May, and autumn/fall begins from September to November months.
Springtime from March to May will be much lively with wildflowers in seasonal bloom, especially the magnolia and rhododendrons the national flower of Nepal.
March to May fine clear day most of the time, with longer sun-light hours but can get overcast in the late afternoon with chances of snow sometimes on high altitude areas as well on passes. Autumn / Falls another best time for this trek with a fine clear day for views and walks. But days are shorter with sun-light hours, morning, late afternoon, and nighttime temperatures drop to freezing cold around the higher region with the bright starry night sky. Chances of snow on trails as well on passes.
Religion and Culture:
North Mid-West Nepal around Manang and Mustang districts populated by Bhotia and Manang people the mountain tribes. The native around high Manang and Mustang follows strong Buddhism religion of age-old culture similar to their predecessors Tibetan, on this trek will notice traditionally built houses, where every home is adorned with Buddhist prayer flags and religious monuments.
On this trek beyond Dharapani village, coming across rows of prayer walls, spinning and wheeled prayer with Buddhist stupas, where walking clockwise will be the right way to respect the local culture as well visit interesting monasteries.

A marvelous adventure around scenic Manang Valley on the backside of massive Annapurna Himalaya to the summit of Pisang Peak.
Pisang Peak a lofty-looking mountain rises at the height of 6,091 m and 19,984 feet high. The peak stands high above Pisang village within Manang Valley close to the high ridges of Chulu’s group of peaks. Pisang Peak is situated close to Damodar Himal range towards the north, a striking peak looking from Pisang village and Manang valley.
Of all trekking peaks listed in NMA (Nepal Mountaineering Association) Pisang Peak is less climbed due to its technical difficulties. The climb of Pisang Peak is classified as PD + (Per Difficule), the grading from the French / Swiss Alpine Climbing System. A straightforward climb with some technical effort to negotiate, climbing on ice, and snow with a steep ascent to the summit.
Pisang Peak was first climbed solo by German mountaineer J. Wellenkamp in 1955 using the South-West Route. Since then the peak is often climbed by interested climbers every year in good season, offers great climbing skills.
Pisang Peak Trek & Climb begins with an exciting drive heading Nepal Mid-West on the main highway towards Lamjung district. As the journey continues following Masrsyangdi River past the large town of Besisar around warm low farm areas.
Drive leads on winding uphill to cooler hill past Syange, Jagat, and Tal Besi reaching at Dharapani village. From here onward within the district of Manang, a lovely village, located on route to Manaslu and Annapurna circuit.
After overnight in a nice lodge, the walk starts from Dharapani towards Chame, a large town and headquarter of the Manang district. The adventure continues following Masrsyangdi River through beautiful woodland of tall rhododendron and pine trees. On leaving the river a short climb to a high ridge with the first glimpse of stunning view of Pisang Peak. The walk follows downhill to Pisang village for the last overnight in the comfort of a cozy lodge.
At Pisang village having a rest day for acclimatization as well as for a short hike around this windswept picturesque valley. Pisang village, situated right beneath Pisang Peak with Annapurna II-A-III in the south, enjoy the day exploring the village.
From Pisang village, our main adventure begins with a climb past upper Pisang village and farmland towards a high ridge. Here our base camp is established for Pisang Peak climb, setting our first tented camp above Manang valley.
The base camp offers a grand vista of giant snow peaks that surrounds our base camp on a high ridge. Our camp is located close beneath staggering Pisang Peak on a Kharka, a yak pasture grazing field at 4,380 m high.
Full preparation at base camp and then adding one more camp to make the climb much accessible setting High Camp. Right beneath South-West Ridge at 5,400 m right at the bottom of Pisang Peak, with time here for practice climb.
The final day of the adventure leads to a well-defined ridge leads to the snow slope, with some technical section to negotiate. As climb progress with the last haul to a steep up to the summit of Pisang Peak without much difficulty.
Feeling on top of the world, enjoy a stunning breath-taking panorama of a snow mountain range that surrounds you. After a great triumph descent on the same route towards base camp, for last overnight in tented camp.
After a great victory reaching safely on top of Pisang Peak, the rest of the walk is easy to Manang village. On route visit the Braga Monastery of great cultural and religious interest, one of the oldest Gompa around Manang area.
The adventure continues after spending overnight at a nice Manang village enriched with an age-old culture of Buddhism, heading towards high Thorang-La Pass.
On leaving Manang village walk on the main route of the famous and popular Annapurna circuit trail to the base of Thorang-La. Next morning climb on winding uphill to the top of Thorang-La at 5,416 m high. The pass marked with prayers flags also forms a boundary between Manang and Mustang districts.
Enjoy the sweeping panorama of high snow-clad peaks and then head downhill towards Muktinath around the Mustang area. Muktinath is a holy pilgrimage site for Hindu as well as for some Buddhism followers, facing grand views of Dhaulagiri Himalaya. From Muktinath down towards Kaligandaki River valley to Jomsom, the headquarter town of Mustang district, here our treks concludes.
Next early morning a scenic, short flight to Pokhara a beautiful city in the close shadow of massive Annapurna Himalaya. From Pokhara, then back to Kathmandu to complete our memorable adventure of great experience on Pisang Peak Trek & Climb.
