Overview
Panchase Hill Trekking is an enjoyable and pleasant short trek of less than a week duration, a perfect country walk. For visitors with a limited holiday in Nepal, but interested in a few days hike to experience Nepalese rural farm life.
A great exciting walk, where views of Annapurna Himalaya follow you throughout the trek from the start to an end. Includes grand scenery of rolling green hills, Phewa Lake, and Pokhara verdant valley dotted with villages and farm terraces. An adventure suitable for all types of people and age-group as well for families with children. Where trek takes you to fresh mountain cool air and into an enchanting forest of rhododendron and pine trees.
Panchase Hill Trekking, a combination of exciting scenery and culture of hill people adorned with traditional age-old heritage customs. The trek includes both beautiful scenic view-points Panchase and Sarankot hills, offers a stunning panorama of the Himalayan range of peaks.
This beautiful country and the cultural walk begins taking a boat ride across Phewa / Fewa Lake. The climb takes to a lovely spot at Peace Stupa, a Buddhist monument, offers grand views of Pokhara city and the valley. A superb panorama of Annapurna and Manaslu Himalaya range from this scenic ridge top, as the walk continues to Panchase Hill. Walking past nice farm villages of Pumdi and Bhumdi then reaching the base of Panchase Hill at Bhanjyang. A small village with few simple lodges and a huge meadow and cattle grazing field with views of Annapurna peaks.
Next early morning climb to the top of Panchase Hill, the highest point of the trek at 2,510 m. From this scenic high hill enjoy the stunning sunrise over a series of Himalayan snow peaks, facing the world’s three tallest peaks. Enjoy the super panorama of Dhaulagiri, Annapurna, and Manaslu range as far to Ganesh Himal in the far-east horizon. Panchase Hill is a holy spiritual spot, with temples and shrines, where in early days till present sage and hermits meditate. After a wonderful glorious morning back to Bhanjyang for an onward journey, walk leads into the lovely forest and then at Bhadaure. A large Gurung farm village with views of Dhaulagiri and Annapurna Himalaya, from Bhadaure a slow climb to Naudanda. Where our route continues to our last destination at Sarankot, another scenic viewpoint, located above Pokhara valley.
Sarankot is a popular spot for stunning sunrise views with the panorama of massif Annapurna and Manaslu Himalayas. This beautiful spot, famous for adventure sports like Paragliding and Zip-Flyer, faces a wide scene of Pokhara valley and the lake. From Sarankot after an enjoyable moment walk ends downhill and then back to the hotel at Pokhara lakeside. After a refreshing and great experience on Panchase Hill Trekking in the close backdrop of Annapurna Himalaya.
Outline Itinerary:
Day 01: Arrival in Kathmandu 1,345 m and transfer to respective Hotels
Day 02: Kathmandu with sightseeing tour, trek briefing and preparations.
Day 03: Drive or fly to Pokhara 860 m, transfer to hotel-06 hours on drives.
Day 04: Take a boat ride and climb to Shanti/ Peace Stupa and trek to
Bhumdi 1, 520 m via Pumdi 1, 440 m village – 06 hrs.
Day 05: Trek to Panchase Bhanjyang 2,180 m – 06 hrs.
Day 06: Hike to Panchase Hill 2,510 m, trek to Bhadaure village 1,460 m.
Day 07: Trek to Sarankot Hill 1,430 m – 06 hrs.
Day 08: Trek down to Phewa Lake and transfer to hotel-03 hrs.
Day 09: Fly or drive to Kathmandu and then transfer to your hotels.
Day 10: In Kathmandu free day for individual activities.
Day 11: International departure for homeward bounds.
Best seasons for Panchase Hill Trekking:
The best time for this wonderful adventure is from the mid-spring and autumn seasons, mid-spring from March to May, and autumn/fall begins from September to November months.
Springtime from March to May will be much lively with wild flowers in seasonal bloom, especially the magnolia and rhododendrons the national flower of Nepal.
March to May fine clear day most of the time, with longer sun-light hours but can get overcast in the late afternoon with chances of snow sometimes on high altitude areas as well on passes. Autumn / Falls another best time for this trek with a fine clear day for views and walks. But days are short with sun-light hours can be freezing cold higher altitude, especially in the morning, and night times will be clear with bright starry nights. Chances of snow on tracks above 1,800 m higher.
Religion and Culture:
The high hills of Annapurna Himalaya and Mid-Hills are populated by Gurung people the mountain tribes of Nepal and the highlanders of Annapurna Himalayas. The Gurung follows the Buddhism religion as well with their ancient culture of the Bon sect, pre-Buddhism. While the Magar Poon is interwoven with both Hindu and Buddhism religions. On the trek, you will notice traditionally built houses, where every home is adorned with Buddhist prayer flags and religious monuments.
