On arrival at Kathmandu / Nepal International Airport, received by Brown Bear
Trails staff and guide with a traditional welcome. From the airport a short drive to
the hotel, located in the heart of Kathmandu city. Our guide or group leader will
brief us with information regarding - hotels-culture with do’s and don’ts including
a welcome dinner in a nice and typical Nepali restaurant with cultural programs.

At Kathmandu, getting ready for a full-day tour around Kathmandu interesting and
important historical and religious places. Kathmandu although a semi-modern city
retains its old glory. Most important ancient monuments, listed by UNESCO
World Heritage Sites. The tour starts with a short drive near the old Durbar /
Palace Square.
The square is steeped full of life and activities, the tour takes you around old
monuments of past glorious days. From this exciting place, a short drive to
Swayambhunath is a famous Buddhist site and landmark of Nepal.
Swayambhunath offers grand views of the whole Kathmandu valley with distant
snow-capped peaks. From Swayambhunath visit Bouddhanath Stupa built in
traditional Nepalese architectural style. Consists of a raised platform, a spherical
dome, and an important pilgrimage site for Buddhism followers with many
monasteries.
The Bouddhanath area is also called Little Tibet.
From here short tour of holy Pashupatinath an important Hindu temple, and observe
the pilgrims with prayer rituals and worships. Inside the main temple premises,
at Pashupatinath, every year in the month of February. As per Hindu calendar a
great festival takes place called Shiva-Ratri (birth anniversary of Lord Shiva).

Morning depart for another exciting tour to Patan / Lalitpur, an adjoining city of
Kathmandu within the valley. The tour of Patan / Lalitpur and Bhaktapur takes
you for a short drive to visit Patan. Also called Lalitpur, means a city of arts and
crafts.
Patan's visit to the famous Durbar / Palace Square dates back to the medieval Malla
kingdom era of 14 th to 16 th Century. The tour of the interesting palace courtyard with
a number of famous temples. From Patan, the drive leads east to Bhaktapur city,
one of the major cities of Kathmandu valley.
Bhaktapur a living museum, houses magnificent monuments of pagodas and
temples. The tour leads to the palace of 55 windows and its lovely courtyard adorned
with a beautiful golden gate. Observe the interesting local Newar cultures a blend

of Hindu and Buddhism religions. After a wonderfully pleasant and exciting tour of
Patan and Bhaktapur cities, back to hotel.

The morning after breakfast enjoy a scenic drive from Kathmandu to reach Nepal Mid-
West where the beautiful and renowned touristic city Pokhara is located.
As the drive takes you past many interesting towns and farm villages with views of
Himalayan peaks and then reaching Pokhara, where all good hotels are located by
the Phewa Lakeside.

Early morning short drive to Sarankot Hilltop for a stunning sunrise over
Annapurna, Manaslu Himalaya range as far as Dhaulagiri with magnificent
the peak of Machhapuchare Himal the famous ‘Fish-Tail’ peak.
Enjoying spectacular morning views, return to the hotel for breakfast and continue
tour of Pokhara visiting interesting natural sites of the great wonders of Seti Gorge,
David’s / Devi or Pathelo Chhago Water Falls and Pokhara local markets situated
away from main touristic area.

Morning travel by private coach or in tourist bus (depending on group size) is an
exciting drive on the main highway. After a scenic drive reaches your hotels near
the boundary of Chitwan National Park in a town called Saura.
On arrival, briefing is held by the naturalist and guide, regarding the jungle
activities, and programs. After getting refreshed check into your lovely rooms and
then start the afternoon with short walk to native Tharu village.
The indigenous tribe of the Terai belt, the low flatland of Nepal observes the local
culture and traditional farm life. Evening a great dinner with fascinating Tharu
cultural folk dance.

Jungle activities begin early morning before breakfast, walk to the elephant
platform for the ride on elephant backs. Riding through dense jungle in search of
rare wildlife around its natural habitat. Likely to see a herd of deer, or rhino, if lucky
Royal Bengal Tiger, wild boar, sloth beer. Includes many birds life with peacocks
and jungle fowls. Other activities include a visit to elephant stables and elephant

bathing and briefing. After lunch drive around the jungles or ride on a dug-out
canoe floating the Rapti River. Observe freshwater Gangetic Gharial and Mugger
crocodiles, and the rare often-seen freshwater dolphins, and otters.

Morning short nature activities or bird-watch tour, then having breakfast depart
from the hotel. Where head southwest to Lumbini Buddha’s birthplace, and on
arrival check into a nice hotel. The afternoon guide will take you for a short
walk to observe local village life. Which is quite different than other hill villages,
the areas with a touch of Indian influence. Due to the close border with India, the
villages are of mostly Indian origin and culture.

A full day at Lumbini for an interesting tour around Lord Buddha’s birth historical and
religious sites. Lumbini is a holy place for all Buddhism. Tour takes you to witness a
pillar erected by emperor Asoka of Magadha Kingdom of India visited on a
pilgrimage in 3 rd Century BC this historical pillar with an inscription stating” Here Lord
Buddha was born”.
Chinese pilgrims Tsen Tsai (4 th Century A.D.), Fa-Hsien (5 th Century A.D.) and
Hiuen-Tsang (7 th Century A.D.) accounted for his travel to Lumbini mentioning the
holy tree, the pond, stupas, and shrines. Hiuen Tsang described Asoka Pillar.
Tour of Maya Devi temple, mother of Lord Buddha, which is recently renovated
under the vigilance of UNESCO.
Several lovely monasteries and stupas have been constructed by various
countries. After an interesting tour head back to your hotels and with time for a short
walk around farm village and town of great cultural interest.

At Lumbini, our journey comes complete, a short drive to Bhairawa Gautama
Buddha Airport. Enjoy the scenic flight of 50 minutes flight to Kathmandu, with
air views of Himalayan peaks. As the plane lands at Kathmandu airport, and then

transfer back to the hotel. On checking into your rooms, rest of the day at leisure for
individual activities and shopping for souvenirs.
