Changtang Nomadic & Lungsher Khang-Ri Peak Climb, an adventure in the heart of Changtang valley and beyond to Tsomori-Ri Lake. A remarkable journey to experience on the high country of Ladakh, the name itself means the land of passes. As well as known ‘Little Tibet’ due to similar Tibetan cultural heritage, including the landscapes. Which is an extension of Tibet South West Plateau of arid and windswept terrain lined with a high snow mountain range.
The region of our adventure Changtang Nomadic & Lungsher Khang-Ri Peak Climb leads to the southeastern part of Ladakh, Changtang. The area is famous for amazing beautiful landscapes, at an altitude of above 4,846 feet high.
Changtang valley beyond its town and villages has more exciting places, it is also reserved as a Wildlife Sanctuary. The adventure takes you to two beautiful lakes at Tsokar and Tsomori-Ri, with time to explore its magnificent places. As trek progress heading further towards our main goal and highlights on the foot of Lungsher Khang-Ri Peak.

Lungser Kang-Ri, one of the highest peaks around southern Ladakh vast terrain at 6, 666 m/ 21870.08 feet high. Beyond Changthang and within scenic Rupshu and Mangrik areas, close to turquoise Lake of Tsho Mori-Ri and Karzok village.
The grade of a climb to the summit of Lungsher Kang-Ri is just ‘F’ means “Facial Easy”. The grade comes from the French / Swiss Alpine Climbing Classification System, which is popular worldwide on an alpine-style climb.
An easy climb of less technical to reach the peak summit, however a strenuous climb on ice and snow.
Changtang Nomadic & Lungsher Khang-Ri Peak Climb begins from the capital Leh town of Ladakh. Spending a few days in Leh, a perfect height at 3,500 m high for acclimatization. Before heading for the climb of Lungsher Kang-Ri peak and other higher terrain of Ladakh scenic landscapes.
At Leh tour of its famous monasteries and landmarks, an opportunity to experience the local cultures and religion. From Leh a drive to Rumtse on route visit of largest and famed Hemis monastery of Ladakh. Where our exciting adventure commences heading towards the beautiful Lake of Tso-Kar and Mori-Ri, located far south of Ladakh valley.
The Lungsher Khang-Ri Peak is located close to Lake Tso Mori-Ri near the Karzok village, the highest peak around the Rupshu area. A unique place with deep valleys and gorges with fresh water and salt lakes, glaciated high land with towering peaks. Although an easy straightforward climb to the summit of Lungsher Khang-Ri at 6,666 m high. All climbers require adequate gear crampons and ice-axe for a safe and enjoyable exciting climb to the top. Led by our expert guide who has a long mountaineering experience around the Himalayas leading countless successful adventurous trips.
The climb starts on reaching the base camp, with spare days for preparation and acclimatization as well as scouting the route. The Big Day! Begins early morning before the crack of dawn, following the steep path in deep snow depending upon the season. Finally reaching on top facing outmost views far and wide of Ladakh extensive valley with stunning snow peaks range.
After an enjoyable breathtaking panorama of amazing Ladakh landscapes plateau, with a mountain range, head back down to base camp.
Clearing the base camp heading back to human settlement towards a lovely remote isolated village at Peldo, past Skyurchu. Peldo located on a road-head, next morning an exciting scenic drive brings you to Leh for the last overnight in Ladakh.

Day 02: A day in Leh for acclimatization and tour of Leh former

Day 18: From Base Camp descend to Peldo-06 hrs.
Day 19: Drive to Leh and back to hotel-06 hrs.
Day 20: Depart Leh for flight to Delhi, connecting international flight.
Best seasons for Changtang Nomadic & Lungsher Khang-Ri Peak Climb:
The best time for this wonderful adventurous trek and climb is from late spring to early autumn seasons, from mid-April and May, as well during the monsoon time of June to mid-September. As all Ladakh and Changthang valley falls within rain-shadow, where heavy black monsoon clouds are blocked by Himalaya high mountains.
April & May are fine clear days most of the time, with longer sun-light hours but can get overcast in the late afternoon with chances of snow sometimes.
Autumn / fall is another best time for treks and tours around Ladakh, with a fine clear day. But days are shorter due to sunlight hours can be freezing cold, especially in the morning, and night times will be clear with bright starry nights. Chances of snowfall during the walk sometimes.
For interested people can visit Ladakh for a tour and trekking during summer times of June to August also. As Ladakh whole area falls within a rain shadow area. Where monsoon dark rain clouds blocked by the great Himalayas and that is why Ladakh most areas are dry with less rainfall.
Religion and Culture:
Ladakh and the North West Himalaya are populated by Ladakhi people descendants of a mixed tribal race of Mons of North India, and Dards of Baltistan with Mongols of Central Asia. History shows the Mons were the first immigrants, followed by Dards who founded different settlements in the Indus valley.
Ladakh is a country of strong Buddhism religion and culture similar to the Tibetan heritage of ancient Buddhism custom, where one can visit its many old monasteries of great religious significance.
